Policies that enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion, including nurturing a culture of respect for everyone in the City, taking special care that the People of Color, the queer LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, and other historically marginalized groups are supported and protected
Using a bottom-up financial planning process that prioritizes the city’s care-centered services
Exploring revenue opportunities for the City, such as by further investment in the City’s efforts to obtain outside grant monies
Supporting measures like Culver City’s 2022 Measure BL, which updated the City’s business license tax to make it fair to smaller businesses, and Culver City’s Measure RE, which established a marginal tax on real property sales
Ensuring the City operates equitably, transparently, and inclusively

Encouraging the Sustainability Business Certification Program, improving the permitting process for energy efficiency and electrification projects, and incentivizing Culver City businesses and residences to enhance energy efficiency and reduce the use of fossil fuels
Investing in the City’s public transportation services by building a robust, connected network of dedicated bus lanes, protected bike lanes, and improved pedestrian amenities in order to prioritize safety and reduce traffic
Supporting energy efficiency and decarbonization in the City’s operations

Making housing more plentiful, affordable and equitable, including:
Providing incentives to developers to build low income and mixed-income units
Reforming zoning laws to allow for higher-density housing
Streamlining the permitting process for new housing
Ensuring the City has adequate staff to support residential development, and supporting meaningful rent control and tenant protections
Supporting persons who are experiencing homelessness by providing immediate, stable housing and mental health, job placement, and other supportive services
